Juice Recipe - Bajoran Sunrise

Here's one with more than a little kick. And if you are a Star Trek fan, I realize that the Bajoran atmosphere normally has a greenish tint, but it is during the sunrise that the casting of orange light happens in Bajor - mostly because of the interstellar presence of their 5 moons. (I totally just made that up.)

Bajoran Sunrise Ingredients:

1 Bunch of Celery
1 Sm. Bag of Carrots
1 Sm. Eggplant
1 Apple
1 Red Potato
1 Orange Bell Pepper
1/4 Onion
1 Sm. Slice of Ginger
1 Garlic Clove
1-2 Handfuls of Mung Bean Sprouts (any sprouts will do)

Book Review: Leonard Nimoy's Poetry

A few night ago, my wonderful friends, Alan and Emily Williams, gifted me with the Leonard Nimoy poetry book: We Are All Children Searching For Love (1977).

Much like Sheldon Cooper receiving Leonard Nimoy's dinner napkin, I had a few mini convulsions and acted a total, geeky fool. Yes, this is poetry written by Leonard Nimoy. I dare you to name anything more awesome.

The poems all deal with love and fragility of the human spirit. The entire book delves into our childlike spirit state and how that is a constant that can be uncovered and honored. Nimoy writes of his devotion to the woman he loves. He writes about being human. And in some instances, he hints at the trappings of fame. (Below is a video of me reading one of them called "There is in me a being little known.") Leonard Nimoy is sooo deep!

Another bonus -  he also took all the photographs that appear in the book. None of them make any sense. The design and fonts in the book are so deliciously circa 1977. And the colors are all browns and golds and beiges - the same tupperware color scheme of the day.

I would recommend this book to all Nimoy fans!!! I'm not sure anyone else would get it.

Live long and prosper, my friends.
